A battery storage system banks the solar power your panels generate during the day for use after sunset or during a grid outage. For homes on time-of-use billing, it also lets you shift stored solar energy into peak pricing periods instead of drawing from the grid.
Battery capacity is chosen based on which circuits you want backed up (a full home versus essential loads like the fridge, furnace and a few outlets) and how much autonomy you want during an outage. We walk through both options during your design consultation.
